Steve Stravolo, CPA, PFS
Steve Stravolo grew up in Spartanburg, SC, where he graduated from Wofford College in 1990 with a major in accounting. Then, he attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and graduated with a Master of Accountancy. While working for the international accounting firm, Ernst & Young, Steve became a CPA in 1993. In 1994, he and his wife Kim (also a CPA) founded the CPA firm Stravolo & Company, P.A. in Spartanburg, SC.
In 2002, Steve founded Stravolo Wealth Management to provide the clients of his CPA firm access to comprehensive planning for retirement and direction with their investment accounts. In 2010, Steve sold the CPA firm so that he could focus 100% of his time on his wealth management clients. Steve’s responsibilities include overseeing the investment function of the firm along with providing clients with a plan for retirement. He meets with clients periodically to update their plan, discuss their goals and expectations and review performance of their investments.
In March 2013, Steve obtained his Personal Financial Specialist designation, which is a credential held by CPAs with a powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.
Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("AICPA"), the SC Association of CPAs, the Estate Planning Council of Spartanburg, and Leadership Spartanburg Alumni Association. He is Past Chair of the board directors of Partners for Active Living (board member since 2012; chair from 2016 – 2018) and co-chair of his church's finance committee (since 2010). For the past few years, Steve has served on a collaborative team of small business owners in the community leading to the Wellville Exchange.
Steve enjoys weight lifting and riding his road and mountain bikes. Steve and his wife spend a great deal of time on the sidelines of their children’s soccer games and cross country meets. He relaxes with his family by taking several trips a year to the beautiful South Carolina coast and to the mountains in North Carolina.
